trying it out last night, the tone sounded pretty warm for only turning it up 1/2 way to 1. i'm thinking (and hoping) that this thing is way more power than i need (more is better!). the contour and eq is iffey ... kinda throaty sounding, but i'm sure with preamp modeling and processing, i can get whatever sound i want. i havent spent enuff time yet.

I was really impressed with the satriani trem video that Kugelspot posted I wanted to try my version of a technique in that playing while hold/moving the tremolo in crazy in-between pitches

I used it here in Whammy Wasteland using my EB-0 for the straight bass and my BluesHawk for everything else. Notice how horn like the Blueshawk sounds, almost saxophone like in some parts.

I cannot tell you Guys just how much of a pleasant surprise these cabinets have been. From the rave reviews I read before I bought them, I knew that they would be a good choice, but I had NO idea just how much I was going to enjoy them! The 1x15 handles every bit of distortion signal I can throw at it, and the 2x15 is absolutely pure thunder! The only thing I might do is add ports to the 2x15 to get even more thunder out of it, but I have no complaints about how it sounds as it is. The guys I ...

It is really coming down to the wire for me. I must get a new rig together, as I now have the chance to form one of (or all of, for that matter) three different bands with my guitarist buddy Andy Beech.

So the time has come for me to build a rig back up. How I am going to finance it at this point, I have no clue. But I am starting to look at different amplifiers, and one name that has come up as an economical and quality choice is Acoustic. I have read tons of reviews that sing their praises, ...

Yup, that big 7 feet tall bass that goes Bom bom bom.

More seriously, after 2 month taking electric bass and Upright bass(read contrabass), I am gassing for an upright.

I didn't liked playing Upright when I was just playing scales, but when I started to walk and play exercises (pieces). It started to grow on me.

Now I deeply want an EUB. Even if I do know that it don't sound as ''DA REEL THING''. I don't care.

Anyway, I am just gassing hard for an NS NXT double bass. ...

I bought these off eBay to give them a spin, and I have to say that I have been extremely impressed with them so far. I have used one other Rotosound nickel set in the past, but they were different from these.

They are much brighter than other nickels I have tried before, and they stay in tune on my Kahler rock solid. They have a great piano tone, and play really easily.

I owe a huge thank you to Martin for selling me his X2N-7. I spent the early afternoon installing it in my SX, and all I can say is....WOW!!!! This thing is pure dynamite! The clarity and richness of the notes, along with the now increased responsiveness is unreal! Harmonics literally pour off the notes, and the overall tonal fidelity is exactly what I had hoped it would be! I play multiple instruments, but for the most part I focus on piano and bass. Piano was my first instrument, and I picked up bass about 8 months ago now. For piano, 90% of the music I play is ragtime; ...

The QSC GX3. All I can say is....WOW! What a mutha of an amplifier! Ultra light-weight, crystal-clear, and LOUD! I will gladly give a ringing endorsement for this amp to anyone who asks.

In clean settings, it's still in the background, and with the compressor and distortion settings up, it's really annoying. Even with the noise gate at full, it still cuts through. The hum resonates around a "B" note, and is so bad that when ...

here's a couple pics:
